About ScribeTube

ScribeTube is an independent tool that lets anyone extract a clean, readable transcript from any YouTube video that has captions. We built it because every existing tool either gates the basics behind a signup, dumps you into a fragmented UI, or charges enterprise prices for what should be a 10-second task.

How it works

Paste a YouTube URL → we identify the video, pull its public caption track, and render it as a clean, copy-friendly transcript with clickable timestamps. We never download or store the video itself. Cached transcripts are stored for 7 days to make repeat reads instant.

Privacy

We don't require an account to extract a transcript. We track anonymous, aggregate funnel events (how many transcripts get extracted, what gets clicked) — never personal identifiers. Our analytics endpoint is privacy-respecting and does not use third-party trackers. No data is sold or shared.

DMCA / Takedown

ScribeTube extracts only publicly available YouTube caption tracks. If you believe a transcript on our site infringes a copyright you hold, contact dmca@scribetube.app with: (1) the URL of the offending page, (2) a description of the work, (3) your contact details, and (4) a statement of good-faith belief. We respond within 48 hours.
